FUNERAL OF P. H. ROTH TOMORROW

Peter H. ROTH, a well known and highly respected resident of this city, passed away yesterday afternoon about 3:30, at his home on West Adame (sic - Adams) street. He had been in poor health for several months, but his condition was not serious until about a week ago.

Peter H. ROTH was born April 17 1842, in Wayne county, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Mary ROTH. He came with his parents to Jefferson county when a child and settled on a farm about three miles southeast of Fairfield, where he grew to manhood.

On January 26, 1870, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary WEITZEL, at Fairfield. They moved to their farm in Blackhawk township about ten miles northwest of Fairfield. They lived there until the spring of 1898 when they moved to Packwood, where they lived until the spring of 1906, when they moved to Fairfield, where he has since resided.

Mr. ROTH is survived by his wife, two daughters, Cora M., wife of Dr. J. O. LAIRD of Malvern, Iowa, and Lulu E., wife of O. F. Fryer, of this city.

When they first moved to their home north of Fairfield, Mr. and Mrs. ROTH united with the Congregational church in the neighborhood. Services were later discontinued at this church and they transferred their membership to the Methodist church at Center. Since that time he has been a member of thi (sic) denomination at the different places of residence.

Besides his wife and daughters, he is survived by three grandchildren, four living brothers, John F. of this city, Jacob of Birmingham, Ben F. of Omaha, Neb., and Ed. A., of Holdridge, Neb., two sisters, Mrs. Wm. J. KYLE of this city, and Mrs. V. A. LAMSON of Milwaukee.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the residence and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
