Donald Lee KISLING, 79, of Keosauqua, died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Donald L. KISLING

Donald L. KISLING, 79, of rural Keosauqua, died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Joseph Phipps and the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Miller Chapel Cemetery northeast of Keosauqua.

Visitation with family present will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Memorials to Stockport United Methodist Church or First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 24003 Highway 16, Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. KISLING was born June 30, 1936, in rural Stockport, the son of Boyd L. and Ruth Marie BROWN KISLING. He married Karen L. ASKEW June 30, 1957, at Stockport Methodist Church.

Mr. KISLING graduated from Stockport High School and Iowa State University. He taught agricultural education at Paton High School and farmed in the Stockport, Birmingham and Keosauqua areas.

He was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church and currently attended First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield. He was active in many local organizations, including Stockport Lions Club, Federal Land Bank Association and Soil Conservation Service.

Mr. KISLING enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard while in high school and served 20 years. His specialties were fixed wing and rotary aircraft as a pilot and mechanic, retiring as a captain and company commander.

Survivors include: his wife, Karen; two daughters, Renee TUPPER and husband Doug of Urbandale and Melody RICH and husband Kyle of Sumner; two sons, Russell KISLING and wife Jean of Marietta, Georgia, and Brian KISLING and wife Lisa of Pella; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Rita McCOY of Peoria, Arizona; and two brothers, Norman KISLING of Stockport and Randy KISLING of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by: one sister, Janet LAWSON.
