Mr. BLUCHER was born Oct. 20, 1942, in Fairfield, the son of James and Lavonna PETTIT BLUCHER. He married Linda JOHNSON Oct. 25, 1963, in Ottumwa.

He was an 1960 (sic) graduate of Fairfield High School.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. BLUCHER worked as an accountant for 39 years at St. Francis in Burlington, and most recently worked for Wilson's Hearing Aid.

He had an adventure-filled life, a life made complete by his family and friends. Known for his quick smile and sharp wit, he was a giver of many things, his time, his ear, his advice and mostly his tough love. He didn't give excuses. No excuses for what many would call a handicap, he called it challenge and rose to that challenge on a daily basis. Family was the most important thing to him.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda; son Shane BLUCHER, daughter-in-law Jill; and three grandchildren in Victoria, Texas; and brother Jim BLUCHER in Amarillo, Texas.

His mother and father preceded him in death.
