September 23, 2004Patricia Joanne Cole, 67, of Bentonsport died at 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity United Methodist Church in Montrose, with the Rev. Goldie Laymon officiating. Burial will be in Montrose City Cemetery in Montrose.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials to Cantril Grass Roots Organization for a bench in Waubonsie Park can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 26785 Route J-40, Keosauqua 52565.
Mrs. Cole was born May 12, 1937, near Azen, Mo., the daughter of Orville and Dolores Perkins Lee. She married William Cecil Cole May 21, 1955, in Cantril United Methodist Church in Cantril.
She graduated from Cantril High School in 1955 and lived most of her married life in rural Montrose until moving to Bentonsport in 2000.
She had been employed by Dryden Rubber in Keokuk, Fort Madison Can Co. in Fort Madison and Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.
Mrs. Cole was a Member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Montrose.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, collecting fairy lamps and traveling and camping. During retirement, she and her husband spent several winters in south Texas.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Dusty Lee Cole and wife Linda of Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany; one daughter, Donna Marie Johnson and husband Don of Pearl City, Ill.; four grandchildren; her father of Keosauqua; and two brothers, Larry Lee of Keosauqua and Gary Lee of Fenton, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
