Isabelle M. ADAM

Isabelle M. ADAM, 92, of Sigourney, formerly of Richland, died Thursday January 7, 2016, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney following a brief illness. She was born February 12, 1923, south of Brighton to John Joseph and Agnes Gertrude FRITZ PACHA. Isabelle grew up in the Brighton area and graduated from Brighton High School and married Leo N. ADAM in East Pleasant Plain May 16, 1942. He died May 8, 2004. She devoted her life to family and faith and was a founding member of the Mother Cabrini Church in Richland. Isabelle was a very active supporter of her children and all of their activities which continued into the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a farm wife who took great pride in her garden and was considered a great cook.

Isabelle is survived by three daughters: Donna (Keith) JONES of Chippewa Falls, WI, Joy (Richard) JURRENS of Quincy, IL and Mary ADAM (Tom Ness) of Kassen (sic - Kasson), MN, two sons: John (Colleen) ADAM and Joe (Roberta) ADAM, both of Richland, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one brother, Charles (Margaret) PACHA of Washington, two sisters: Helen HESSELTINE of Oxford and Mary (James) REDLINGER of Washington, nieces, nephews and friends. Also surviving are in-laws: Elmer (Helen) ADAM, Irene DICKINSON, Bernice VOGEL, and Elizabeth (Herbert) VOGEL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Philip Anthony (sic - Philip Anthony ADAM) and grandson Michael John JONES.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday January 13, 2016, at Mother Cabrini Church in Richland with Rev. Charles Adam, Rev. Nick Adam and Rev. Richard Adam officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. A Rosary will be held immediately preceding the service at 9 A.M. followed by visitation with the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Keokuk County or to the Richland Commercial Club for a walking path in the park and may be left at the church or mailed to Joe and Roberta ADAM 28708 300th Avenue, Richland, IA 52585. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.
