September 17, 2004Ola M. Parrish, 93, of Mount Sterling died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Harness Cemetery in Mount Sterling.
The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral.
Memorials to Harness Cemetery can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 461, Keosauqua 52565.
Mrs. Parrish was born Oct. 8, 1910, in Arbela, Mo., the daughter of John L. and Mayme Pence Beckert. She married Ivan A. Parrish Nov. 2, 1926, at Edina, Mo.
After moving from Knox County, Mo., she and her husband farmed near Mount Sterling for more than 60 years. In addition, she was employed by Sheaffer Pen Co. in Fort Madison and as housekeeper in Keosauqua. She had resided in Good Samaritan Center since September 2001.
Mrs. Parrish attended Mount Sterling Methodist Church. She grew vegetable and flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband of Good Samaritan Center; one grandson; five great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe Lee and Noel Beckert; one sister, Vergie; one son, Charles Parrish; and two grandsons.
