Larry L. ROSS, 76, of Fairfield died at 3:04 a.m. today in Marion. Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Larry L. ROSS

Larry L. ROSS, 76, of Fairfield died at 3:04 a.m. Monday December 14, 2015 at his daughter's home in Marion.

In accordance with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with the Rev. Mary Kathryn Hart officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Private interment of cremains will be at a later service in Downing City Cemetery (note: in Missouri). Memorials to Van Buren Sports Boosters may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 2310 Glasgow Road, Fairfield, IA 52556.

He was born June 11, 1939 near Downing, Missouri to Junior and Maxine REDDING ROSS ATKINSON and married Phyllis NEWCOMER, on Dec. 22, 1957 in Downing.

Larry grew up in Downing and graduated from Downing High School in 1957. He and Phyllis started their married lives in Memphis, Missouri where he worked for Pepsi Cola for seven years. He then began working for Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline from which he retired in 1996. They moved to the Birmingham area in 1972 and then to Fairfield in 1991.

Larry enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with his grandchildren and his new great-grandson.

In addition to his wife, Phillis, he is survived by a son Jim ROSS (Lyn Jester) of Keosauqua, two daughters, Cindy BROWN (Phil) of Marion and Betsy CAVINESS (Rob) of Mt. Sterling, a brother, Garry ROSS of Downing, Missouri, a sister, Barb ANDERSON (Larry) of Troy, Missouri, six grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
