Vernon Andrew MANLEY

Vernon Andrew MANLEY, 68, of Birmingham, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at his home.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. MANLEY was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Fairfield, the son of Andrew Jackson and Bessie Rosalie FLEAGLE MANLEY II. He married Evelyn "Maxine" HOAGE Nov. 18, 1967, at Free Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Mr. MANLEY worked for 46 years in the foundry at Fairfield Castings, formerly The Dexter Company, as a molder.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1927 since 1970.

Mr. MANLEY liked to play cards, hunt, fish, care for cows but most of all, he liked spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include: his wife; two sons, AJ MANLEY and wife Melissa and Jess MANLEY and wife Wendi; four grandchildren; and one sister, Andrea WILLIAMS of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Dorothy GARDNER; and one brother, Roger MANLEY.
