Jean 'Irene' LILES

Jean "Irene" LILES, 88, formerly of Selma, died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Premier Estates Care Center in Muscatine.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Eldon Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery, west of Selma (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation, with family present, will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be left at the church or mailed to the family at PO Box 369, Eldon 52554.

Arrangements are in the care of Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Mrs. LILES was born May 28, 1927, in rural Batavia, the daughter of Guy and Elsie McCLEARY DeVORE. She married Emett Leroy LILES July 6, 1946, at his family's home in rural Floris.

Mrs. LILES was a farm homemaker and supported her husband in his horse racing career. Caring for her family was her main role in life.

She was an active member of Eldon Assembly of God Church for 40-plus years.

Survivors include: two sons, Tim LILES and wife Lynne of Muscatine and Randy LILES and wife Barb of Packwood; three daughters, Mary SZELIGA of Ottumwa, Ginger CHATFIELD and husband Daniel of Muscatine and Teresa POUSH and husband Scott of Mountain Home, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: one son, Ricky LILES; eight brothers, Carol, Leonard, Paul, Donald, Lowell, Ray Forrest, Dennis and Arlo DeVORE; and two sisters, Fern KIPER and Shearley McDOWELL.
