Virgil L. McCORMICK, 84, of Moline, passed away Friday, October 30, 3015 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Private family burial will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
Virgil was born in Jefferson County, IA, the sonof Mahlon and Olive (MONSON) McCORMICK. He married Louisa ALLARD on December 13, 1949 in Moline. Virgil graduated from Fairfield High School in 1949. Virgil worked for John Deere Plow-Planter holding various jobs in the company, and as a farmer. He enjoyed playing pickle ball, racquet ball, and cards. Virgil liked traveling, camping, watching sports, and hunting.
Virgil is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louisa McCORMICK; children, Nancy (Dennis) HATCHER, Port Byron, Connie McCORMICK, Colona, Deb (Steve) RUDDELL, Durango, CO, Bruce and Larry (Sue) McCORMICK, both of Logan, UT, and Merri (Kent) DEAL, Hampton, IL; grandchildren, Corinne and Bart HENYAN, Eileen (Joe) CAMPAGNA, Natalie WEAVER, and Ben (Jennifer) and Sarah RUDDELL; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Joshua, Lucas, Matthew, and Nathan RUDDELL, and Anthony CAMPAGNA; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Iona BARKER; and brothers, Leland and Bernard McCORMICK.
