Dewayne "Hootie" HOOTMAN, of Fairfield, died this morning, Oct. 29, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Dewayne HOOTMAN

Dewayne HOOTMAN, 80, of Fairfield, died Thursday morning, Oct. 29, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Earl Dewayne HOOTMAN was born Jan. 29, 1935, in Fairfield, the son of Kenneth Earl and Eva Marie BOUGHNER HOOTMAN. He married Wilma Jane TONKINSON June 11, 1954, in Fairfield.

A lifetime resident of Fairfield, he attended Fairfield schools.

He served in the Iowa Army National Guard attaining the rank of specialist 5.

Mr. HOOTMAN worked at Universal Producing Company as shipping supervisor for 18 years.

He owned and operated the Sandwich Shop for 18 years and worked as a janitor for the Fairfield community schools.

Survivors include: his wife, Wilma HOOTMAN; one daughter, Sherry Jane COOP and husband Ken of Urbandale; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Mary RAMBO of Libertyville; and two brothers, Carroll HOOTMAN of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Charles "Sonny" HOOTMAN of Fairfield.

Deceased family members include: his parents; one son, Ronald Dewayne HOOTMAN; one sister, Beverly MOORE; and one brother, Kenneth Richard "Dick" HOOTMAN.
