Lawrence Joseph ROE, 85, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial can be made to American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association. Cards and memorials can be sent to Lois ROE at 365 Marion Blvd., Apt. 208, Marion 52302.
Mr. ROE was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Waterloo, the son of Thomas and Edna DVORSKY ROE. He married Lois KELLER Jan. 26, 1950, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.
Mr. ROE was a mechanic for many years.
He was a member of the Catholic church and a past member of the Eagles Club for many years.
He enjoyed working on and restoring cars.
He and his wife enjoyed spending time together; they would spend their winters in the Texas area. He loved listening to music and dancing. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his wife; one daughter, Beverly Janice DAVEY of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother Jim ROE of Wilmington, Ohio; and four sisters, Delores WRIGHT of Cedar Rapids, Ruth NEWGAARD of Cedar Rapids, Lorna JERRED of Anamosa and Mary CHECK of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and two brothers, Raymond and Ralph ROE.
