John ADAMS, 93 of Waucoma, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waucoma, with the Rev. Nick March. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Waucoma, with military rights (sic -rites) conducted by Waucoma American Legion Post No. 189 and members of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Friends can greet the family 3-8 p.m. at the church, where there will be at 2:50 p.m. Rosary and an 8 p.m. Parish Scripture Service. Visitation continues one hour prior to the Mass on Friday.
Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home of Waucoma is entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. ADAMS was born April 2, 1922, near Waucoma, the son of William and Maude BASKERVILLE ADAMS. He married Norma TOMASEK, Aug. 20, 1947.
He graduated from Waucoma Public High School in 1939 and from Iowa State College in 1946.
He joined the United States Marine Corps as a reservist on March 6, 1942, and was discharged as a private first class in November 1945. He served as a combat infantryman in a rifle company in the Pacific Theatre involved in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
He was active in his adopted church and served in different capacities on several different boards. He worked and lived for his family and was proud of all of them.
Survivors include: his wife; 11 children, Bill ADAMS and wife Nita KUBOUSHEK of Spillville, Kathleen CURRY and husband Edward of McHenry, Illinois, Rebecca SEARCY of Decorah, Samuel ADAMS and wife Bonnie BENZ of Spillville, Gerry GARLES and wife Diana KNITTLE of Fairfield, John ADAMS of Lorton, Virginia, Scott ADAMS and wife Jeanie BUSTA of Waucoma, Bruce ADAMS and wife Lolita KUBOUSHEK of Waucoma, Jim ADAMS and wife Julie WHITE of Missouri Valley, Jeff ADAMS and wife Judy ZOULEK of Spillville, and Edna STAHLEY and husband Albert of Waucoma; 30 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Roberta BRANNON of New Hampton.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Ralph W. ADAMS; and two grandchildren.
