Dorothy M. LANGE

Dorothy M. LANGE, 82, of Chariton and former area resident, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center in Chariton.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge, with the Rev. Gloria Friedrich officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA).

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. LANGE was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Audubon County, the daughter of Lawrence and Anna PORSCH PETERSEN. She married Ross V. LANGE Feb. 25, 1950, in Atlantic. He died Jan. 2, 2013.

The LANGEs moved to Fort Dodge, where Mrs. LANGE worked as a certified nursing assistant at Friendship Manor.

The family later moved to Clarke County, then to Adair County. After retirement, they moved to Mt. Pleasant.

Mrs. LANGE had worked at various nursing homes throughout her life.

She was a member of First Augustana Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Linda SCHILLING and her husband Tom SCHILLING of Corydon; three sons, Donald LANGE and wife Marcia of Osceola, Randall LANGE of Des Moines, and Scott LANGE and wife Sandra of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; and one brother Ivan PETERSEN.
