Jeffery Lynn WYATT, 54, of Fairfield, died today, Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at VA Hospital in Iowa City.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is helping the family with arrangements.

Jeffrey "Jeff" Lynn WYATT, 54, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at VA Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

Per Mr. WYATT's wishes, the body has been cremated. A graveside memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with Sheila Parcel officiating. Burial of cremains, with military rites, will follow the service.

Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or VA Medical Center in Iowa City. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Michel WYATT, 805 W. Stone Ave., Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Mr. WYATT was born Dec. 11, 1960, in Fairfield, the son of John and Juanita HOSTETTER WYATT. He married Michel DAUGHERTY April 11, 1998.

Mr. WYATT lived most of his life in the Fairfield area. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1977-1981 and then joined the U.S. Army from 1983-1985.

He worked the last two years as a truck driver for Panama.

Some of Mr. WYATT's interests were hunting, fishing, watching college football, music and animals.

Survivors include: his wife, Michel WYATT of Fairfield; one daughter, Deana SYLVESTER and husband Jason of Camdenton, Missouri; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Bill WYATT of Fairfield and Kevin WYATT of Packwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
