Genevieve Beryl LOEFFLER

Beryl LOEFFLER, formerly of Keosauqua, IA, passed away at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Ft. Worth, TX, on August 19, 2015. Her health had been gradually declining in recent months and she had been hospitalized for a few days prior to her passing. Per her wishes, Beryl will be cremated with entombment at the National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL, along with her husband Hollis.

Genevieve Beryl BEER was born on July 9, 1931, in Keosauqua, IA, the daughter of Willis and Pearl BEER. She was a 1949 graduate of Keosauqua High School. She married Hollis L. LOEFFLER on January 7, 1951.

Beryl was a familiar, friendly face at the Van Buren County Courthouse in Keosauqua, IA, from December 1966 to January 1992, spending much of her work time in the County Treasurer's Office. After her retirement, she and Hollis enjoyed taking automobile trips and had visited all 48 states on the U.S. mainland. For several years she was active in the local American Legion Auxiliary and the Junior Auxiliary with her young daughters. She enjoyed league bowling at the Keosauqua Lanes and competed in local and state bowling tournaments across Iowa.

Although she and Hollis relocated to Texas in 2010, Beryl found great pleasure in maintaining contacts with family members and friends "back home". She looked forward to her annual trips to Iowa and cherished the opportunity to re-connect in person.

Beryl is survived by her daughter Judy ANDERSON and husband Jim of Louisville, KY; daughter June WEDLAKE of Saginaw, TX; grandson Neal WEDLAKE and great-granddaughter Hailey of Saginaw, TX; brother Craig BEER and wife Janet of Ames, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis, her parents Willis and Pearl BEER, and her brothers Keith and Stanley BEER.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Expressions of condolence can be sent to June WEDLAKE, 409 Taylor Street, Saginaw, TX, 76179, or Judy ANDERSON, 310 Arthur Hills Way, Louisville, KY, 40245.
