Anita 'Pearl' TYGART

Anita "Pearl" TYGART, 90, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials can be made to the Jefferson County Health Center, Fairfield Senior Citizen Center or the VFW Auxiliary. Cards and memorials can be sent to Richard TYGART, 1005 Grand Park Drive, Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Mrs. TYGART was born Jan. 27, 1925, near Farson in Wapello County, the daughter of Ray Oren and Anna Frances SANCHEZ WIGGINS. She married James L. TYGART March 25, 1944, in Ottumwa. He died Sept. 30, 1986.

Mrs. TYGART was a member of Farson Baptist Church and a graduate of Farson High School.

She moved to Fairfield in March 1951. She was a longtime employee of Perry Clothing in Fairfield.

Mrs. TYGART loved to sew, quilt and play bingo. She volunteered at The Bargin (sic) Box and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Keep Young Club and Friendship Force.

Survivors include: one son, Richard TYGART and wife Alicia of Fairfield; one daughter, Ginny Ann TYGART of Iowa City; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister Marilyn Jeanne ELDER of Ottumwa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; four brothers; and five sisters.
