Judy Louise STEELE MOTE

Judy Louise STEELE MOTE, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A graveside funeral and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Packwood Cemetery in Packwood, with the Rev. Gloria Friedrich officiating.

Memorials can be made to the Iowa Paralyzed Veterans of America. Cards and memorials can be sent to Terry E. STEELE, 3006 180th St., Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made at to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is helping with arrangements.

Mrs. MOTE was born Oct. 22, 1945, in rural Packwood, the daughter of William N. and Agnes V. WOODBURN STEELE. She married Lee Roy MOTE Jr. on July 24, 1970. He died Nov. 22, 1992.

Mrs. MOTE graduated from Fairfield High School in 1964. She attended and graduated from National Transportation School in Kansas City. She worked for the college for a while. She was hired as an instructional secretary with the Kansas City school district.

She and her husband lived in the Kansas City/Belton area for 39 years. She moved back to Iowa in 2003.

Mrs. MOTE enjoyed making crafts and she loved making candy and cookies from scratch. She especially loved listening to music and attending concerts; she even befriended the entertainers. She adored the country, taking care of others and helping people.

Survivors include: two brothers, Terry E. STEELE and wife Kay of Fairfield and Jerry D. STEELE and wife Mary of Lockridge.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Rex and Gary STEELE; and her parents.
