Elaine Eleanor BALLARD, 72, of Camanche, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her daughter's home.

A private family graveside service will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A celebration of life will be in September at the DYKHUIZEN family reunion.

Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to ABATE of Iowa.

The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.

Elaine Eleanor BALLARD

Elaine Eleanor BALLARD, 72, of Camanche, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her daughter's home.

Mrs. BALLARD was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Ellsworth and Marian DYKHUIZEN NICE. She married Donald A. WARD in April 1961; they later divorced. She married Edmond J. BALLARD in December 1980. He died May 8, 1991.

She was a graduate of Morrison High School. She attended beauticians school in Chicago. She was a beautician in Morrison for many years.

She enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, reading and motorcycles.

Survivors include: three daughters, Donna WOOD of Camanche, Marry WARREN and James of Herrington, Kansas, and Sherri WETHERALL and Jeff of Stockport; one son, Will WARD of Clinton; seven grandchildren; one brother, Don NICE of Morrison; and three sisters, Jan MAYES of Morrison, Pat ONKEN of Morrison, and Kathy ANDERSON of Red Wing, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Ed; one sister, Lorraine GLADHILL; and one son-in-law, Mark WOOD.
