Mary MAROS VOORHEES

Mary MAROS VOORHEES, 92, of Sanford, Florida, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, surrounded by her family.

A memorial service for the family will be on Wednesday at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford, Florida.

Mrs. VOORHEES was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of Nicholas Paul and Thoephany SACURIDES MAROS. She married 1st Lt. DeLloyd VOORHEES March 17, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Mrs. VOORHEES was a homemaker who cared deeply for her family. She was an excellent seamstress and her many titles included den mother, Sunday school teacher, PTA member, church choir mother, Lady Elk and dedicated military wife and mother.

Survivors include: two sons, DeLloyd VOORHEES Jr. and spouse Connie of Florida, and Thomas VOORHEES of Fairfield; one sister, Theodora KONTRAS of Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one son, Nicholas VOORHEES; and two sisters.
