Mary J. ANDERSON, 86, of rural Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, July 6, 2015, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.

Mary J. ANDERSON, 86, of rural Mt. Pleasant died Monday, July 6, 2015, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Wes Kendall officiating. Private burial will be in Grant Cemetery (note: in Henry Co., IA).

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. ANDERSON was born March 7, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of William S. and Florence May WHITE MILLSPAUGH.

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the Class of 1944.

Mrs. ANDERSON had worked at the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Middletown.

She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose organization.

She enjoyed playing bingo and was an outdoors person who loved fishing and gardening. She loved her animals. Her most enjoyable time was being with family.

Survivors include: her children, Michael MILLSPAUGH, Jeannie GEE, Johnnie HILLYER and Kenny Lavern HILLYER; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, one son, James HILLYER; and two sisters, Pat WILLIS and Ruth Ann KITCHEN.
