Hazel Faye WOLF

Hazel Faye WOLF, 94, of Keosauqua, died at 3:52 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Herd (sic - Herb) Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Miller Chapel Cemetery in rural Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation will open at 3 p.m., Monday, with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 26705 225th St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. WOLF was born May 24, 1921, in rural Keosauqua, the daughter of Orville and Elizabeth RADESTOCK CHANEY. She married Keith WOLF May 24, 1941, in Fort Madison. He died Sept. 3, 1982.

Mrs. WOLF grew up in rural Van Burn (sic - Van Buren) County and graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1939. After graduation, she taught rural school for two years in Van Buren County. She was a homemaker and also worked on the family farm.

She was active in the former Bentonsport Ladies Aid and numerous other church activities. She was a longtime member of Bentonsport Methodist Church, and after it closed, she became a member of Center Chapel Church in Keosauqua.

In her later years, she enjoyed reading and attending all of her great-grandchildren's events.

Survivors include: two sons, John WOLF with wife Sharon and Robert WOLF with Lorri TALLEY, all of Keosauqua; one brother, Bob CHANEY of Elgin, Illinois; one sister, Donna OLLIG of Galesburg, Illinois; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: one daughter, Linda WELLS; three brothers, Melvin, Earl and Bill CHANEY; two sisters, Grace SCHROEDER and Ruth MAVIS; and one great-grandson.
