Linda K. RITZ, 73, of rural Fairfield and formerly of Douds, died at 2:50 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Linda Kay RITZ

Linda Kay RITZ, 73, of rural Fairfield and formerly of Douds, died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery in Douds (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family present 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Hospice Compassus can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1962 170th St., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. RITZ was born Oct. 21, 1941, in Polk County and named Lorene Maxine UHLMAN. She was adopted by Kenneth and Lucile EMMACK Sept. 28, 1945. She married Jack Lefever RITZ Dec. 31, 1960, at First Methodist Church in Fairfield.

She grew up on the EMMACK family farm in Jefferson County northwest of Fairfield.

After her marriage, she and her husband lived in Douds-Leando. In 2001, they moved to a new home in rural Fairfield across from where she was raised.

Survivors include: her husband Jack; one daughter Pamela Sue MIER and husband Mike of Ottumwa; and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and one son, Wayne Lefever RITZ.
