William L. "Bill" BLOUGH, 69, of Iowa City died Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (note: in Johnson Co., IA).
Memorial services will be held at 6pm Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, where visitation will begin at 5pm and continue following the services. Private family graveside services will be held later at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Bill's memory to the Johnson County Humane Society. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com .
Bill was born January 15, 1946, in Fairfield, Iowa the son of John D. and Beulah M. (STEWART) BLOUGH. Growing up in Fairfield he attended schools there graduating from Fairfield High School in 1964. He attended the University of Iowa, and then returned to Fairfield to graduate with the last class at Parsons College with a degree in business. He made a career in the Cable Industry, working in a number of different cities, settling in Iowa City in 1979.
He enjoyed many things in life, gardening, mushroom hunting, fishing, golfing, playing pool, bowling, playing cards, and traveling; but near and dear to him was his family, friends and his dogs!
His family include two daughters, Jammy DINNEL and Jessica REMLEY (Ben); grandchildren, Lauren, Ali, Sami, Lex, and Jordyn; sisters, Joyce ORTE (Marv) and JoAnne DEATSCH; former wife, Denise BLOUGH; several nieces and nephews and his golden retriever, Gus!
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Margaret.
