Hazel JONES

Hazel JONES, 90, of Iowa City and formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Lantern Park Care Center in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Riverside, with the Rev. Brian Gantz officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences to the family can be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com .

A memorial has been established to Riverside First Responders.

Mrs. JONES was born July 5, 1914, near North Liberty, the daughter of Charles and Marie KLEINSCHMIDT REYNOLDS. She married Emmet GINGERICH April 8, 1934, in Illinois; he died Oct. 15, 1962. She married William JONES June 20, 1970, in Fairfield. He died April 17, 1983.

She was a farm wife, 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher in Illinois. She moved to Fairfield and was employed as a nurses aide for 18 years by Jefferson County Hospital. She moved to Riverside Senior Village in Riverside in 1984.

Survivors include two daughters, Caroleann BLACK of Richland and Nancy JONES and husband Dan of Riverside; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Henry REYNOLDS of Iowa City.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; one son-in-law, Marvin BLACK; and one sister, Myrtle YODER.
