Melvyn L. Fitz-Randolph Jr., 40, of Richland, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at his home.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Kim Gates officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Friends may greet the family from 10-11 a.m. immediately before the funeral service at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established for the family.

Melvyn Lynn Fitz-Randolph Jr. was born Jan. 8, 1964, in Torrance, Calif., the son of Melvin Lynn and Charletta LaVerne Omstead Fitz-Randolph. He married Kim Allen in 1982; they were later divorced. He married Ann Heasley Feb. 24, 1990, in Ottumwa; they were divorced in 1999.

In addition to California and New York, he resided in Nevada for five years, Missouri for six years, Colorado for two years, Ottumwa for six years and Richland for two years.

He was employed as a drywall hanger and had worked as a cook.

He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous of Columbia, Mo.

Survivors include six daughters, Melanie Elliot of Torrance, Michelle Randolph, Ashlie Randolph, Amiti Randolph and Madysann Randolph, all of Richland, and Brennan Randolph of Kingsland, Texas; two sons, Morgan Randolph and Melvyn Randolph of Richland; two brothers, William Randolph of Richland and Raymond Randolph of Kingsland; one sister, Tracy Taylor of Palm Springs, Calif.; and his step-father, George "Chubby" Mulcahy of Richland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
