Dellora Hannah RIEPE

Dellora Hannah RIEPE, 91, of Fairfield, died Friday, May 15, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory in Fairfield, with the Rev. Stacy Grau officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Lutheran Church. Cards and memorials can be sent to 302 S. 31st St. No. B, Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made to the fmaily at www.behnerfh.com.

Mrs. RIEPE was born Sept. 7, 1923, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, the daughter of Alfred and Anna RADLOFF KIETZKE of Mitchellville. She married William RIEPE Feb. 28, 1959. He died Dec. 25, 1999.

She moved to Bondurant with her family when she was a small child. She graduated from Bondurant High School in May 1941. She attended and graduated from former Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines in 1943.

She started employment in an insurance office. Later, she worked in an attorney's office. In 1945, she was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital, where she worked for 33 years.

She and her husband lived and worked in Des Moines for 21 years before retiring and moving to Fairfield to be closer to his family.

Before and after retiring, they enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives in and out of state.

Mrs. RIEPE was a member of First Lutheran Church, the IOOF Rebekah Lodge No. 96 and a charter member of Fairfield Chapter 1814 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was a former president of Keep Young Club, the Merry Maker Card Club, a charter member of Heritage Travel Club at the First National Bank and the American Legion Auxiliary No. 396 in Bondurant for many years.

Survivors include: two stepsons, Ernest "Ernie" RIEPE and wife Debra of Fairfield and Paul RIEPE and wife Barbara of Fairfield; nine stepgrandchildren; 18 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Shirley Naydene in infancy and Viola May BARGER; one brother, Alfred KIETZKE; one stepdaughter, Evelyn GODWIN; one stepgrandson; one great-stepgrandson; and one stepgranddaughter.
