DOUDS - Donna R. TAUBE, 74 of rural Douds, died at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at home. Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

DOUDS - Donna TAUBE, 74 of rural Douds, died at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 2, 2015 at Zion Bible Church, Hwy 16, east of Douds with Pastor Blake Rispens officiating. Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds with family present 5-7 p.m. Cremation will follow the service with private burial of cremains in Zion Lutheran Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA). Memorials to Zion Bible Church or KaRen Bible Translation Project in Thailand may be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 13366 Hickory Avenue, Birmingham, IA 52535.

She was born February 28, 1941 near Douds to Kenneth and Ruby NEDROW KNECHT and married Daniel E. TAUBE October 3, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church, now known as Zion Bible Church. Donna graduated from Douds-Leando High School in 1958 and from Iowa Success School, Ottumwa in 1959.

Following graduation from Iowa Success she worked in the office at John Morrell & Co., Ottumwa. In 1970 she graduated from New Tribes Mission Training. The TAUBEs lived near Douds until 1968 when they entered New Tribe Mission service, living and serving in Durham, Ontario, Canada; Rochester, Pennsylvania; Jackson, Michigan and Sanford, Florida and returned to Douds in 2003.

She was a member of Zion Bible Church, Ladies Missionary Group, Ladies Aide of Douds and New Tribes Mission.

She enjoyed decorating, antiquing, crafting and bookkeeping as well as being with her family, music and traveling.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, three daughters, Darla ZONTS of Clark Lake, Michigan, Lea BETTS (Leigh) of Thailand and Lisa WALKER (Jason) of Winter Springs, Florida, two sisters, Dixie GATES (Duane) of Douds and Doris KISLING (Charles) of Keosauqua, 14 grandchildren, an great-granddaughter, her mother-in-law, Evelyn TAUBE of West Point, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Mark TAUBE and her parents.
