Peggy F. HAGANS

BRIGHTON - Peggy F. HAGANS, age 80, of Brighton, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her residence following a brief illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Russell Young officiating. Visitation will begin noon Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday evening. Interment will take place at New Haven Cemetery in Washington. Peggy was born January 8, 1935 in Dumow, England, the daughter of Jack and Mabel Gertrude (HOLDEN) HOY. She attended school in England. She was united in marriage to Daryl "Tiny" RICHARDSON on October 24, 1955. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1978. She later married Harold LeRoy HAGANS on December 31, 1984. Harold died on October 20, 2004.

Peggy moved to the United States in 1956. She managed the Washington Head Start program for 30 years. She enjoyed camping, barbeques, playing the organ and spending time with all of her family and extended family.

She is survived by her son, Melvin RICHARDSON and wife Mary of Washington; son, Daryl RICHARDSON of Brighton, Iowa; son, Duane RICHARDSON and wife Sandra of Hedrick, Iowa; daughter, Angela RICHARDSON and friend Jon Manning of Libertyville, Iowa; son, Scott RICHARDSON and wife Nicole of Sigourney, Iowa; special friend, Michael Barnes of Brighton, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pauline GIPPS, Violet EDLINGTON and Sheila RYMAN of England.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a grandson, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, one brother and six sisters.
