Robert "Bob" Lindauer
July 21, 2004Robert "Bob" Lindauer, 80, of Vista, Calif., and formerly of Fairfield died Saturday, July 10, 2004.
A memorial service was held at the National Veterans Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
Mr. Lindauer was born April 11, 1924, in Fairfield. He married Ethel Van Fleet.
He graduated from Fairfield High School and Iowa State University.
Mr. Lindauer served in the United States Air Force during World War II advancing to the rank of captain as a member of a B-29 aircraft team. He was recalled to service in 1951 and served during the Korean conflict as a radar operator on a B-29.
He worked for Maytag Company for many years, then began working with Texas Instruments in 1957 in Dallas, Texas. In 1967, he accepted a position with Boeing in California. He retired from Boeing in 1987.
Survivors include his wife; three children; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
