Mary Margaret Estes, 58, of Sunnyvale, Calif., and formerly of Ottumwa, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Mountain View, Calif.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Abingdon Cemetery with the Rev. Stephanie Raphael-Nakos officiating. The body has been cremated.

Memorials to Pekin Chapter Dollars for Scholars can be mailed to PO Box 190, Richland 52585.

Reece Funeral Home of Ottumwa is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Estes was born Oct. 16, 1945, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Gerald Franklin and Gladys Wiggins Estes.

A 1963 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, Wash., she received a bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Washington State College in 1966 and continued her education at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. She taught elementary school, and then was employed by the federal government.

She had lived in California for the past 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
