Marilyn Joan CARBAUGH

Marilyn Joan CARBAUGH, 83, of Eldon, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Good Samaritan in Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

The funeral is planned for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Eldon Christian Church in Eldon.

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Eldon Christian Church or Good Samaritan Hospice of Ottumwa. Friends can sign the online guestbook at www.kremerfh.com.

Mrs. CARBAUGH was born March 21, 1931, the daughter of Clarence and Emma KUNZMAN KOOGLER. She married Richard "Dick" CARBAUGH in November 1949 at Eldon Methodist Church. He died in 2000.

Mrs. CARBAUGH began her life in Selma and grew up on the family farm. She attended school in Douds, where she graduated with the Class of 1949.

She and her husband began their life together in Eldon, where they raised two daughters. From the beginning, family was her life. She loved being a mother, and in later years, cherished time with her grandchildren becoming a constant fan at their school, dance and sporting events. She was known as a No. 1 Comet fan.

In her free time, she loved sports at all levels. She was a Jeff Gordon NASCAR fan, followed March Madness, and enjoyed taking in any game, college or professional. She loved Christmas time and everything that went with it: decorations, lights and family. She took pride in the two maple trees that she and her husband planted in their yard and the Eldon community.

She was a member of Eldon Christian Church, Bowling League and the Kroso Card Club.

Survivors include: two daughters, Connie McKEEVER and husband Allan of Eldon and Joyce WILLIAMS and husband Ed of Albia; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice MUNN of Arizona and Charlene CANADAY of Douds.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. CARBAUGH was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Shirley CAVES.
