George KIEWS, 85, formally (sic) of Packwood, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is helping the family with arrangements.

George 'Buddy' Edwin KIEWS

George "Buddy" Edwin KIEWS, 85, of Ottumwa and formerly of Packwood, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

The funeral is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Frosty VanVoorst officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be at Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon.

Visitation for family and friends will be noon to 1 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Old Threshers Reunion or American Cancer Society. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Bill Kiews, 1034 148th St., Batavia 52533.

Mr. KIEWS was born July 25, 1929, in Packwood, the son of William C. and Bula Pearl HARRISON KIEWS.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War (sic - Korean Conflict).

He lived all his life in Packwood and was a farmer. Mr. KIEWS was a member of American Legion and Draft Horse Association. He looked forward to volunteering every year at Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include: one brother, Marvin KIEWS of Batavia; and one sister, Doris HICKS of Rose Hill. He was preceded in death by: his parents.
