Elizabeth "Betty" FOODY, 92, formerly of Cresskill, NJ, died peacefilly at 2:51 pm, Saturday, August 16, 2014, at her home in William Hill Gardens in Easton, MD.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, IA with Pastor Joe Phipps officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield, 200 South Main Street, Fairfield, IA 52556 or Jefferson County Health Center, 200 South Main Street, Fairfield, IA 52556.
Mrs. FOODY was born November 12, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Elizabeth and Owen McDONNELL. She married Edward J. FOODY April 7, 1945, and raised her family in Cresskill, NJ.
She retired from Cleveland Twist Drill in 1986. She then worked part-time at Lever Brothers, and also at Corn Products Corporation, as an administrative assistant in sales. She came to live in Fairfield in 2000.
She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter MB, Women's Club, Fairfield Golf & Country Club, and First Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed music, theater and the arts, travel, and New York City.
Survivors are her sons David M. FOODY of Waterloo, IA, and Richard E. FOODY of New York City, and her nieces and nephew Robin DAVENPORT of Easton, MD, Sandy DAVENPORT of Parkton, MD, and David DAVENPORT of New York City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Owen "Skip" McDONNELL, her husband, and one son Edward "Chip" FOODY.
