Richard HEATER, 85, of Keosauqua, died at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Richard D. HEATER

Richard D. HEATER, 85, of Keosauqua, died at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral is planned for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Herb Shafer and the Rev. Doug Harding officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, southeast of Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA).

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, with family present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Bonaparte Main Street or a charity of the donor's choice can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 217, Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. HEATER was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Burlington, the son of Clyde and Jesse EDWARDS HEATER. He married Patricia DUNN Nov. 20, 1949, at her parents' home in the Sharon community north of Farmington. She died Aug. 20, 2013.

Mr. HEATER graduated from Fairfield High School and was employed 35 years by Iowa Electric Light & Power Company, working both in Fairfield and Keosauqua. He retired in 1986.

He was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church, had been a longtime member of the Riverview Club in Keosauqua and was a strong supporter of Bonaparte Main Street.

Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara MORRIS and husband Ben of Keosauqua and Gianna BARROW and husband Roy of Bonaparte; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther PEEBLER and Margaret SIEBERT.
