Dan ELMORE

Dan S. ELMORE, 58, of Ottumwa, died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Mike Emehiser officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Camp Courageous or I.S.S.D.A Youth Camp.

Mr. ELMORE was born July 23, 1956, in Fairfield, the son of Clifford W. and Donna F. FLEIG ELMORE. He married Beverly BECKLER Feb. 12, 1977.

A graduate of Washington High School in 1974, he had worked for Coppock Quarry in Coppock, and Perfex Manufacturing in Washington, Iowa. He then worked for Schmidt Construction, which became Iowa Bridge and Culvert, where he has spent the last 32 years as crane operator.

He was a member of Trinity Friends Church in Richland, where he had been the youth group leader. He was very active in his children's activities having been the Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader of Troop 56 in Richland and Pack 34 of Wayland. He also had served as a Southeast Iowa Council member with the Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his wife, Bev; three children, Troy ELMORE of Libertyville, Tiffany HYSELL of West Des Moines and Travis ELMORE of Washington; five grandchildren; and four sisters and brothers, Alanna HARRISON of Kansas, Craig ELMORE of Iowa City, Luanne ARCHER of Richland and Doug ELMORE of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Timothy ELMORE.
