Sandra CASSAIDY

Sandra CASSAIDY, 74, of Landmark Commons, died from pancreatic cancer Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

The funeral is planned for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Katherine Graham Pahl Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery in Waterloo. Burial will be in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation is planned from 10 a.m. until the service Thursday at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society, Waterloo First United Methodist Church or Cedar Valley Hospice. Condolences can be left at www.LockeFuneralHome.com.

Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo assited (sic) the family with the arrangements.

Mrs. CASSAIDY was born June 29, 1940, in Fairfield, the daughter of Murl and Neva KITCHEN TEDROW. She was raised by her uncle and aunt, Ray and Zelda TEDROW WRIGHT. She married Arlet E. CASSAIDY Aug. 12, 1962, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Libertyville.

She graduated from Douds-Leando Consolidated High School in 1958 and received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Iowa in 1962.

Mrs. CASSAIDY was a public health nurse in Scott and Buena Vista counties. She went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Waterloo for 20 years retiring as a rural mail carrier in 2000.

She was a member of Waterloo First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: her husband; two sons: Brian CASSAIDY and wife Julie of Ames and Kevin CASSAIDY and wife Lisa of Mount Prospect, Illinois; five grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy CLINGMAN of Fort Madison, Lloyd TEDROW of Muscatine and Gary TEDROW of Salem; and one sister, Beverly KUHLJUERGEN of Muscatine.
