Catherine L. HARPER, 84, of 200 S. 15th St., died at 4:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating.
Family members will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home. A memorial to the family has been established.
Mrs. HARPER was born July 12, 1916, in Hedrick, the daughter of John and Ethel SMITHART DENNISTON. She married Andrew H. HARPER March 3, 1934, in Ottumwa. He died in 1970.
Mrs. HARPER lived most of his life in Wapello and Jefferson counties. She worked at Universal Producing Company and Parkside Tavern, both in Fairfield.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary NEIL, Barbara COOK and Viola HARPER, all of Fairfield; one son, Johnny H. HARPER of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, John IBBISTON of Columbus Junction.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters and one granddaughter.
