Death Takes Ethel CUPP

Myra Ethel CUPP, 86, longtime resident of the Fairfield Community, died at 10:45 a.m. today at her home, 805 E. Burlington. She had been ill for a number of years.

Last rites have been tentatively set for Monday, Dec. 10, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Myra Ethel CUPP was born Aug. 23, 1887, near Winchester in Van Buren County, the daughter of Valentine and Mary Catherine GLANDON CUPP. She was reared and educated in Van Buren County and attended the Watson Business College in Fairfield.

She served as bookkeeper for the Fairfield Telephone Co., and also the United Telephone Co. for a total of 39 years before her retirement.

Miss CUPP was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Pythian Sisters, Business and Professional Women and Hawkeye Rebekah Lodge No. 386.

She is survived by one brother, George CUPP, and a sister, Katie CUPP, both of Fairfield, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

CUPP Funeral To Be Monday

Last rites for Myra Ethel CUPP, 86, will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. David R. Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Miss CUPP died at 10:45 a.m. Friday at her home, 805 E. Burlington, following a long illness. She was a native of Van Buren County and a former longtime employe at the telephone office.
