Paulene WINN

Virgie Paulene WINN, 95, formerly of Milton died at 8:47 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua, where she had resided since 2005.

The funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery west of Keosauqua.

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with family present 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Lebanon Cemetery can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 152, Milton 52570.

Mrs. WINN was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Arbela, Missouri, the daughter of Fred M. and Bertha DANNENHAUER PADGETT. She married Forrest William WINN June 12, 1938, in Keosauqua Methodist church. He died June 1, 1972.

Mrs. WINN attended rural schools near Arbela and graduated from Memphis High School in 1936.

She was a talented seamstress, quilter and crocheter and made hundreds of rag rugs. She was a talented crafter of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and farmer dolls. She loved cooking and was always trying new recipes.

Survivors include: two sons, Joe WINN and wife Betty of Tucson, Arizona, and Bill WINN of Milton; one daughter, Kay WINN BURROUGHS and husband Ron of Bella Vista, Arizona; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Edna M. PEARSON.
