Roy G. NELSON rites Thursday

Roy G. NELSON, 78, 51 S. Ninth, died at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday at University Hospitals in Iowa City after an illness of six months.

NELSON was a retired farmer and worked part time for the Nelson Co., Inc. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and had lived in the Salina area for 60 years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Roy G. NELSON was born July 22, 1903, in Mediapolis, the son of Nels G. and Clara A. JOHNSON NELSON. He was married March 16, 1932, at Lockridge to Louise A WAGGONER who survives.

In addition to his widow he is survived by three daughters: Wilma McCREEDY and Karen HOLT, both of Fairfield; and Delores NEWLON, Lincoln, Neb.; and a son, Marvin L. JOHNSON, Fairfield.

Other survivors include nine grandchildren and a sister, Hazel HOSTETLER, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Behner Funeral Home.
