Charles Roy "Chuck" MYERS, 61, died September 7, 2014, at Jefferson County Health Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5 pm-8 pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at Behner Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established. Cards and memorials can be sent to Lee Ann MYERS, 500 S. 6th Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
Chuck was born March 4, 1953 in Fairfield, Iowa to Virgil L. and Barbara J. BLAKELEY MYERS. He married Lee Ann HOEKSTRA on July 20, 1974 at Richland United Methodist Church in Richland, Iowa.
Chuck was a lifelong resident of Fairfield and had worked at Dexter and Iowa Malleable. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth teams, was a Boy Scout leader, and was the original organizer of the Challenger League. He and his wife never missed their children and grandchildren's activities. He spent many years on the Little League Board and was the groundskeeper at the Babe Ruth Field. Chuck had a special love for his dogs.
Chuck is survived by his wife: Lee Ann of Fairfield, 4 sons: Mark A. (Lisa) MYERS of Fairfield, Daniel B. (Karen) MYERS of Fairfield, Christopher A. (Bianca) MYERS of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Phillip J. (Jodi) MYERS of Fairfield, 8 grandchildren: Taylor, Davin, Erica, Jordan (Kelsey), Drew, Quinton, Corbin, and Mackenzi; parents: Virgil and Barbara MYERS; 2 brothers: Mike (Sue) MYERS of Albia, Iowa and Lonnie MYERS of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
