Kolten Ryker JOHNSON

Kolten Ryker JOHNSON, 4, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014.

A Mass of Christian burial is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Goose Creek Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.

Kolten Ryker JOHNSON was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Kurt and Patty VON RUDEN JOHNSON.

He liked playing with Legos and watching "Frozen" and "Bolt." He loved his construction equipment, going swimming, going to the beach and reading. He played T-ball and soccer. His favorite thing to do was go on walks, rides and exploring new places with his brother. Kolten loved his dog Logan and his cat Cody.

Survivors include his parents, Kurt and Patty JOHNSON of Goose Creek; one brother, Kale JOHNSON; grandparents, Judy and Dennis JOHNSON of Wisconsin and Pete and Teri VON RUDEN of Iowa; great-grandparents, John and Lucile NECHANICKY of Minnesota and Audrey DOUD of Iowa.
