Lee A. HILL

BATAVIA - Lee A. HILL, 45, of Batavia, died of a heart attack Wednesday, March 10, 1993, at his home.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. David Grandon officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery. Open visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The casket will be closed. Memorials have been established to UAW Local 74, BPO Elk 1192 in Fairfield and First Responders of Batavia.

HILL was born Feb. 28, 1948, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Warren and Vera CLINGMAN HILL. A lifelong resident of Batavia, he graduated from Fairfield High School in 1966. He married Cathy SCHERER on Aug. 4, 1979. He had worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works for the past 20 years and was a member of UAW Local 74, and BPO Elks 1192.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Jennifer HILL of Fairfield, Stacy SCHERER of Agency, Gina COURTNEY of Batavia; two sons, Alan HILL of Fairfield, J.R. SCHERER of Batavia; three grandchildren; brother, John of Packwood; two sisters, Peggy KIMMERLE of Centerville and Jane WATSON of Ottumwa. His parents preceded him in death.
