Note: The above brief mention is all I have on hand for this obituary; no other obituary for her has been in "The Fairfield Ledger" through August 15th. The Fry Funeral Home website posted a complete obituary for her, which provides the following facts: Virginia Faye GARLICK CARLSON died August 3, 2014, in Clarence, Iowa. Visitation was held August 6th in Tipton, Iowa, with the funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6th. Graveside services were held at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. She was born January 12, 1924, the daughter of James and Francis May KINYON GARLICK. She married Vincent CARLSON August 22, 1942, in Kahoka, MO, and they lived in Tipton until 2002 when they moved to Clarence. She liked family gatherings, making pies, breads, and noodles, embroidery, quilting, playing cards and Aggravation, and going to the casino. Survived by children Charles (Linda) of Tipton, Linda (Don) HILLYER of Tipton, Carl of Odell, IL, Becky (Stan) SEVERIN of Lowden; eight grandchildren, Chuck, Jim, Bill, Olivia, Stewart, Patrick, Shari and Sandi; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by husband Vince, sisters Betty YOUNGER, Francis WAGNER and Margaret SHOTWELL, a half-sister Lucille, a brother Harlan, and half-brothers Raymond and Ralph.
