Mary 'Catherine' NEWLON

Mary "Catherine" NEWLON, 97, of Fairfield, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral is planned for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday prior to the funeral at the church.

Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting in the arrangements.

Mrs. NEWLON was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Charles F. and Gertruce BROICH MARSH. She married Harold L. "Babe" NEWLON Sept. 1, 1937, in Eldon. He died June 12, 1980.

Mrs. NEWLON was a 1934 graduate of Batavia High School.

She was a bookkeeper for Fairfield Lumber Company for 34 years.

Mrs. NEWLON was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary, American Legion Auxiliary and the Keep Young Club.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews, including local niece Mary E. FLEIG of Fairfield; and one sister-in-law, Margaret NEWLON of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
