May 13, 2004Iva M. Benson, 92, of Batavia died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery.
Open visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today. Family will be present 7-8 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to the Sheep Shed or the Assembly of God Church, both in Eldon.
Mrs. Benson was born July 29, 1911, near Eldon, the daughter of Charles and Bessie Greenland Warden. She married Donald I. Benson Aug. 21, 1929, in Eldon. He died on May 23, 1994.
She lived most of her life in the Eldon area as a homemaker.
Mrs. Benson attended Sheep Shed and Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two sons, Donald E. Benson of Denmark, Iowa, and David Benson of Floris; one daughter, Linda Booth of Batavia; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Loren Warden of Newton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John "Jack" Benson and Michael Benson; four grandsons; one great-grandson; two brothers, Gilbert Warden and Donald Warden; and one sister, Imo Attaway.
