'Vee' Vera M. SHAFFER

"Vee" Vera M. SHAFFER, 67, of Janesville, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at her home.

The funeral was held Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

Inurnment is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Center Cemetery (a/k/a Packwood Cemetery) in Packwood.

Memorials can be directed to Bremer County 4-H or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls is handling arrangements.

Mrs. SHAFFER was born Aug. 27, 1946, in Fairfield, daughter of Bernard and Ruth KIME McCORMICK. She married Douglas SHAFFER Feb. 15, 2003, in Lansing.

She was employed as a secretary and volunteer coordinator with the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Norhtern (sic) Iowa campus in Cedar Falls.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas SHAFFERof (sic) Janesville; one daughter, Lisa DIXON of Sumner; two stepdaughters, Trina SPRINGSTEEN and husband Jim of McGregor and Kristi SHAFFER of Marquette; three stepgrandchildren; one sister, Fran WOOLLUMS of Ottumwa; and one brother, Gary McCORMICK of Libertyville.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one son, Shawn DIXON; and two infant brothers, Larry and Terry.
