"DEATH OF A PIONEER. Wm. H. Bush, whose residence in this county dated back to about 1848, died at his home five miles northeast of this city Sat. Born in Muskingum Co., Ohio Jan. 8, 1822; married Anna Scofield in 1846, who died in Feb. 1857. Two years later married Lydia Clapper. 13 children, 5 by first marriage and eight by second. Of the former only Gilbert and Lemuel are now living and their home is near Kent, this state. Six children by second marriage survive: Strilla, Newton, Robert, Emma, Elza and Nettie, most of whom reside in this vicinity. . . . .Body interred in cemetery near the Bush home."
