Refa E. "Sally" Carr, 84, of 112 1/2 W. Broadway Ave. died at 12:03 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Tom Raphael-Nakos officiating.

Visitation began at 11 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Family will be present from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the graveside service.

Memorials have been established to Batavia United Methodist Church, Hospice of Jefferson County and the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center. Memorials can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1508 Second St., Keosauqua 52565.

The daughter of Lawrence and Lola Brown Bequeaith, Mrs. Carr was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Stockport. She married Richard W. Miller April 17, 1938. She later married Wendell Carr May 18, 1968. She was preceded in death by both her husbands.

Mrs. Carr was a resident of Ottumwa from 1957 to 1992, when she moved to Fairfield.

She was employed by Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua; Sunnyslope Care Center, Dr. Harley Stevenson and Edd the Florist, all of Ottumwa; and Clemons Inc. of Fairfield.

Mrs. Carr was a member of Batavia United Methodist Church, Deborah Circle of Kings Daughters and Heritage Club of the First National Bank in Fairfield.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Blackburn and husband Bill of Keosauqua and Linda Carr and husband Glen of Batavia; one son, Larry Miller and wife Janet of Fairfield; two stepsons, Richard Carr of California and Larry Carr of Nebraska; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Bradshaw of Ottumwa; and one sister-in-law, Marge Bequeaith of Stanwood.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter; one stepson, Jack Carr; one stepdaughter, Sharon McEwan; and one brother, Wayne Bequeaith.
